Are you tired of chasing people to book gigs for your group?
If you are like me, you just love playing live and are not so fond of chasing people to book gigs. However, I’m sure you agree with me that promoting your band is absolutely crucial and that if you want to play regularly you must have a rock solid system to book gigs for you and your band on a regular basis.
Whether you are new to the music business or are an experienced musician with tons of experience in the industry, it can be tiring and, at times, annoying, trying to book gigs, going to each restaurant, cafe or even professional venue and openly asking managers if they can offer you a date.
Over the last few years, I have been asking myself whether there is a better way for promoting your band, and book gigs without sounding desperate while enjoying an abundance of people at your live events. So, let me ask you a question:
“What if you could get people to ask YOU if you could play gigs for them?”
That’s right. Instead of chasing people, you can literally draw them to YOUR world and even make them feel lucky to have your band play for them. How do you do that? Simple… Facebook!
Here’s what you can start doing immediately…
Whenever you see a bar, a restaurant or whatever venue you’d like to play at, you can either write down its name and address or even go inside and ask for a business card. Then, go to your computer and find them on Facebook. These days all businesses have a Facebook account.
They even ask you to join them in all their advertisements! Did you notice that? Now, you can just ask for friendship or send a short message saying:
“Hello, I came across your lovely bar (restaurant, theater etc…) and I would be delighted to add you as a friend in my profile.
Have a great day, your name.” Did you notice that I did not say anything like: “Hi, I was wondering if you are looking for musicians…”?
This tactic is called “Attraction Marketing” and is the most effortless strategy for promoting your band. You just communicate with your prospects just letting them know about you, your profile and, of course, your value. Instead of constantly thinking of promoting your band you just focus your attention on your music, posting videos on youtube and sharing them on your facebook account.
You can be sure that you’ll get tons and tons of comments. Just go with the flow and let things happen…
Only people who find you “attractive” will get in touch with you!!
So how does this strategy to book gigs sound to you? Just go ahead and start looking for local venues, festivals and any other opportunity to give you and your band the exposure you deserve.
